I live part-time in New York City where I am a PhD Candidate in Ethnobotany, teach college Biology courses and also work as a labor support doula. I spend the rest of the year in Central America, living in remote southern Belize where I am conducting research on medicinal plants used traditionally for fertility regulation and the treatment of hormone-related health conditions among the Maya and Garifuna people of the region. This is my academic/professional blog, which is comprised primarily of my thoughts, ideas and opinions on topics broadly related to my ethnobotanical research and work in reproductive health.

cool! Just watched you on the travel channel… Interesting work! What a blessing it must be to study there with the indeginous healers there.
